i want to give my house a name.
lot's of my neighbours have already done this, so we have a plethora of name boards springing up in my road.
(actually, i susupect it's a sort of snobbery so that people will know that it's not just another old house full of flats and bedsits but a privately owned whole house).

Thanks for clearing that up, Tres. In Texas, when a crime is considered "violent" typical offenders must serve most of their sentence, unless there is a parole revocation, in which they must serve 100%. A man I knew beat his children with a belt that he left bruise marks under their diapers. He was put on ten years probation. He did drugs, was caught, and revoked. He consequently served out the full ten years of his term.
What really made me sick is seeing one of the four boys who raped and murdered (and are on death row) two young girls in Houston on that prison pen pal site, and saying he made one innocent mistake and would like to find a nice lady to fall in love with. Ugh! When I read the details on his case, I was just so sickened. But these people aren't on the Internet, I think they get a sponsor to put their snail mails on the Internet.

since i seem to have offended some with my comments (moi?!.
why do so many christians, become christian again, and call themselves born again?
why not just say you decided to change directions and open your mind to a new idea?
Teenyuk:
To try to answer your question: if you are born again, it's just about saying to God that you accept him as your savior by virtue of grace. As a former JW, this was hard for me to accept and/or understand. I keep feeling you have to *do* something like preach to people or something. But that's not what it is. You accept him as your savior and that's that. You can be a Catholic if you want, as long as you accept Christ as your savior. It's not a denomination, necessarily. As former JW's we were taught that you *have* to be a JW to get saved. That's not what I believe to be true. It's all about accepting Christ into your heart as your savior. You might want to live a lifestyle that would be a witness or testimony to others, but if you sin, you don't knock yourself down and fear death and shunning, you pick yourself up and start over. It's still hard to get over a gift of life that's given freely and all we have to do is accept it. It took me years to understand this concept, and maybe I don't fully understand it at all, but it's the way I understand it at this point. I hope this helps.. if not, maybe someone more articulate can clear it up further. Hugs

There *is* such a thing as being ob-nauseously Christian. Those people turn me off. I am born again, but don't think I'm obnoxious about it. If people ask, I tell them, but don't preach to people. I'm not perfect, nor do I claim to be. I have just expressed my belief in Christ as my savior and accepted him, and that's the whole story on that.
I used to know a man in my office that was just the "goodest" person I ever met. You would never know he was a born again, because he didn't talk about it, but you would wonder if he was by his actions and words. He was a very good example of living the faith without being obnoxious.

child sex beast crushed
by robin perrie a child molester has been crushed to death under his own car sparking celebrations among his neighbours.
paedophile george nicholson, 63, had convictions for sex attacks on a string of boys as young as nine and was loathed by everyone living near him.
His karma ran over his Dogma.

my mother called this morning and said that my brother is in the hospital again.
they are both jw's.
he is the brother closest to me in age.
My mother called this morning and said that my brother is in the hospital again. They are both JW's. He is the brother closest to me in age. He has a disease that attacks his blood cells and kills them, then his kidneys are overloaded and shut down. His kidneys are now shutting down. Through tests since last night, he has been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure (which could cause a heart attack). I think he worries too much and it set off this latest crises with the disease. They are putting him in dialysis this morning, and then later this afternoon chemotherapy. The chemo will suppress his immune system, which is what is causing antibodies to be made to his own blood cells. I will go visit him tomorrow morning, but today is just too critical for him to be rested and get his treatments and tests. Can you guys say a prayer for him, if you can? I've already lost one little brother.. and this hurts so bad. I keep thinking of how much pain he is in, and how scared he is. He didn't tell anyone til he went to the Emergency Room yesterday. He just doesn't complain, so no one knew. I just hope that he can make it out of this medical crises... A blood transfusion might help him here, but you all know the drill.

in the spirit of minimus i thought i'd put a positive spin on things.
they say when you surrond yourself with the positive its easier to be positive and vice versa for negativity (no offense to min as i also fully believe that you have to deal with negativity too).... that being said....whats the nicest thing, compliment, gift etc that anyone has ever said or done to/for you?.
I had a few teachers that really influenced me. My sixth grade teacher had us all write plays and then act them out in the class. I wrote a script about a blind girl, and we acted it out. He said I was the most talented student he'd ever had in his life and if I "applied myself" <teachers always said that to me> I could go anywhere. It was nice to have someone believe in you when you felt so little about yourself. I also had a boss that believed in me, and gave me the promotion that I never thought I'd get because I thought I wasn't good enough. I actually broke down in tears in her office saying I couldn't do the job, I wasn't qualified, etc. She said she knew I could and she gave me the chance. So I did do it, and I did it well. Thank God for her. Because of her belief in me, I stayed extra hours to learn the job and ended up winning awards for my work. I always think of her.

i was given the "privilege" to open the kh early to switch on the heating.
they even gave me my own set of keys.. every saturday night, me and another jw would drive to the kh with our amps and guitars and .
jam until the early morning, using the stage and the kh's pa system.
I went once, after I had been out over 10 years, with my Mother to the meeting. After 20 minutes I was having a nicotine fit and went outside of her Hall and stayed out there for the balance of the meeting and smoked on the front porch. Heh.
